Welcome to the new Georgia Rails website. This site is a combination of the former Athens Rails and AtlantaRails sites. The site is owned by railfan and railroad photographer Nikos Kavoori, with additions by other contributors listed in the about page. Here you will find information about railroading past and present, class 1 and shortline throughout the state of Georgia. While initially the site will have a northeast Georgia focus due to most of the material coming from the two old sites, I hope to expand the site to have statewide coverage. If you are interested in contributing please contact me through the contact for in the about page. I am always looking for people able to post detailed railfanning guides for rail lines, or articles about railroad history. 

Note: Please excuse the amount of blank pages and non functioning links as I get the site restarted. It has been alot of work to get all the pages from my old sites transferred and I'm still not finished.
